Renovations, additions, and rebuilds — run like a real project, not a guessing game.

I'm Jonathan Rodriguez, founder of Robusto Building Group, LLC. We take on the work your home actually needs — kitchens, baths, additions, and water-damage rebuilds — with a written scope, an accountable schedule, and one person who answers for the job. That's me.

What we do

Four kinds of work.
Done properly.

No handyman grab-bag. Robusto focuses on the projects where a general contractor actually matters — planning, trades, sequencing, and finish. Photos on this page are illustrative of the styles we build toward — our own project gallery grows as our first jobs complete.

How we work

No surprises.
That’s the system.

Most bad projects don’t fail on craftsmanship — they fail on paper. Ours start there.

01

Walk & listen

We walk the space together, talk through what you want, what the house needs, and what the budget has to respect.

02

Written scope

You get a scope in plain English: work included, materials, exclusions, and price — before anyone picks up a tool.

03

Schedule & build

A real sequence with real dates. If something moves, you hear it from us first — not when a crew doesn’t show.

04

Walk it together

Final walk-through, punch list in writing, and close-out only when the work matches the scope you signed.

Meet the founder

I’m Jonathan.
I answer for the work.

I started Robusto Building Group here in Gaston County because homeowners kept telling me the same story: good craftsmen, bad projects — no scope, no schedule, nobody accountable when things drifted.

So I built the company around the opposite. My background is running complex technical work for businesses across the country; I bring that same discipline — written plans, honest timelines, one owner who picks up the phone — to building and rebuilding homes.

“If my name is on the company, the work has to hold up.”

Oak timber frame construction — the inspiration for the Robusto name
Illustrative: the oak frame that inspired our name — Robusto, “strong as oak.”
The name we chose

Strong by name.
Sturdy by nature.

Robusto means robust, strong, sturdy in Spanish and Italian.

Its roots reach back to the Latin robustus — “strong as oak” — and robur, meaning oak, hardwood, and strength. That is the idea behind our name, and the standard behind our work.

Robusto was not the first name on the list. After considering nearly 200 possibilities, Jonathan chose it himself. It had the weight he wanted in a building company: straightforward, strong, and built to endure.

Strong as oak. Built to last.
